The History of Elen Alasse-Olvalye of the Dúnedain
Tucked away in her apron was a letter that Elen had almost memorized. The worn out letter was from her brother who traveles and had abandoned her at the fate of the hobbits.
Dearest Elen,
I have met the funniest sort of Fellow, he goes by the name Gandalf the Grey. He has a fancy for hobbits and fireworks. But he is the best and kindest man that I've ever met.
I am now helping out the Beornings with getting rid of the orcs. Nasty things those animals. I'm now tracking some dwarves who have stolen some valuable text and various other things from Lothlorien. You would think that with their perfected army, and hear, they would have been able to hear the dwarves. But nay, the dwarves snuck in and took several things. So I am now on the trail headed for Moria. Hopefully I will be able to see you soon. Keep our secret safe, and stay safe yourself.
Love,
Strider
Elen was only 9, but she loved getting letters from her brother. She wished that she was able to get out there and kill some of those orces herself. But nay, she had to sit and learn things such as cooking and cleaning. What matter was that to the world? (Besides the need of Hobbits being fed)
Even as a young child she felt too tall for the little house.
The Dúnedain were few and far between now. Most lived in Rivendell, where her brother had been raised. Elen was told that it was safer for her if she was raised with the Hobbits.
Elen did not mind the life of the hobbit, but because she was bigger than the other hobbit children in Brandywine. So they always stayed away because of their fear of the "Big Person". Which had always made Elen sad, but her letter from her brother had always cheered her up.

"Those confound Hobbits!! Their brain is always in their stomach!!!" Elen screamed in frusteration. She was now 15 years old, (In Middle Earth years) she was frusterated at her hobbit mother. Why wasn't she allowed to learn how to fight with a sword? These hobbits would have no protection if the Orcs decided to venture as far as the Shire. All they would have is rotten rubarb and squashes to throw at them. bouk Elen hit her head on the door frame. "Ugh, the 5th time this week Elen, you'll have a huge knot on your head if you keep this up." Elen decided that it was her time to move on from the Shire. Her parents had actually given their approval a fortnight ago. Elen wasn't sure what was keeping her in the Shire. Maybe it was because this was the only place that her brother knew she would be.
At that moment her stubborness came forth and she decided she was going to Rivendell, to go track her brother and stay with him.
She said her goodbye's that evening and headed out first thing in the morning to begin her adventure.
