-in association with the original *poke* topic heheh-

"Stop *poking* me" (...do you see what I've done here? huh? Do you see?! emoticon)

Pain, though the sharpest of ill content, has stifled our will. Through merest extension of our hands we have, as it was foretold, brought upon a great darkness, and even now it calls out to *poke* once more, bringing with it the scorched wind of bad tidings. Onward though! Onward for a cessation we seek, listening for a time where our limbs and lo, even our eyes (yeah, sorry about that one everyone!~Tor~ ) may be carried free of such tortuous stabbing of distal phalanges, and portentous digits. To bring to an end such agonies we go on, an endless road, whereon we walk, dodging and weaving the arms of malevolent attack, lest we might escape with ne'er but a bruise on our skin from such rapscallions as do plague our journey.

Lament for the beginning of the end to begin.

The Master of the Shiny Circular Thing That Shines Quite A Lot Indeed : The Re-appearance and Re-enstatement of the man who shall wear the crown and be named Ruler of all the Lands.

Ai!! O what time is this that I must wait...many a day turns into weeks and weeks turns into months, and months become a year!! A year i say...i must wait...wait to see the end begin...and what ending is this that it takes so long to become apparent. Weary of this waiting I am. O Elbereth! Why must we wait!!! I should cut mine eyes out and cast them away rather than wait another day, but the powers that be do not relent.....Blessed be that which we call The Master of the Shiny Circular Thing That Shines Quite A Lot Indeed : The Many people gathered together in kindredship with one goal in common to destroy the Shiny Circular Thing That Shines Quite A Lot Indeed. edition on shiny circular diskette that includes additional extras and footage, and rejoice at the thought of The Master of the Shiny Circular Thing That Shines Quite A Lot Indeed : The not one but two phallic symbols that reach high in the sky and 'tower' above all else, that can be inhabited by live beings. which soon....soon shall come into being on aforementioned shiny circular diskette....first in its cinematic release version and then later....oh joy of joys, on shiny circular diskette that includes additional extras and footage!!!!

But Alas...i believe that rather than tiding my restlessness and anticipation of waiting for the release of The Master of the Shiny Circular Thing That Shines Quite A Lot Indeed : The Re-appearance and Re-enstatement of the man who shall wear the crown and be named Ruler of all the Lands. it may make my wait all the harder and more difficult....justwetting my appetite for the cinematic masterpiece that is the beginning of the end to come.

Ai!! when shall this suffering cease, alas, i believe not until the month of the nativity, when the beginning of the end is to come, and then i shall suffer no more.

I believe the phrase is WORD emoticon

Word

In the depths of curious agreement, a flickering light of hope hath put forward its banner of most jubilant concurring. Decidedly, Various Details must emerge soon as to the contents of our most desir'd objects, both of its minor and major manifestations. As the pale sky continues to taunt our temporal torture, we think forward to the red dawn where but a day shall remain until the unleashing of the fine hour upon which we shall be replenished by means of the visual sustenance that we are so very enamoured by. Forth! To our places of market, and barter we shall, when the mighty hour is upon the world, but while that treasured moment eludes us we must attempt patience, so that we might not lose our way in the manner of those poor unfortunate souls whose shattered shells remain in the dead marshes.

Tor, this is such an awesome topic!!! I love everyone's--and Bee, I think the poem was very much Ring-ish.. after all, the books are filled with that stuff!! Love them all! Y'all 're so great!! I'm going to have a try, too....

You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours.

Having long toiled separately, I feel at once that more should ought to be gained by mutual aid rendered betweent us for our reciprocal benefit, at once both to our individual advancement and without begetting and lasting bond which should have to be rent at parting had it been made.

Not sure if that's exactly Tolkienesque, but I tried.

I Cow

Upon conversing with a fellow cyberspace friend, there was a point in which I agreed with that which she wrote. In my rapid attempt to type a quick response I failed to make my point of agreement and the famous words were thus written "I cow."

Which has, from there on, been defined as "agreeing with someone" "showing the same feeling towards the subject with which you speak" or "a interesting word that may be spoken when thou has nothing else to say". It has also been added to the list of curse words. To save your soul from the punishment of sin you may insert "cow" instead of "god" when you swear. Thus clearing you from using God's name in vain. As we all wish to remain in the state of holiness. (emoticon) The lesson that I have learned is just this: "The normal and quick things which were not meant to be can become famous if it be thy destiny".
*********************************

Oh, my cow...that could be the weirdest thing I have ever written.

Poor TMOTSCTTSQALI, so neglected of late.

Tonight I had some grapes. They were nice.

so

Grapes are great

From the furthest recesses of all these lands, the shrill winds have told of times where our perilous contempt for thirst, and lack of ample sustenance were quelled by that courageous product of virtuous vines. Thus we did make wine and have a jubilant age, captured by its sweet consequence and intoxicating sensibility. While many may attest to such times, we still do remark that the fruit of such abundance continues to delight in perpetuity, as we twist from the stems such quenching and restorative harbingers of vitality.

It's easy Cheers, you know how in LOTR Tolkien describes everything in VERY long detail?! emoticon

Well this was an old topic that was in D,H&E when we were on the AnneCubed forum. It's meant to be a kind of tribute or homage to such lengthly writing emoticon

This is just a collection of the ones people posted then, and I'm going to start a new topic for people to post new ones soon.

So, as a (short) example, you might say something like:

I don't understand

Alas, for my knowledge in this area is sorely lacking. Try as I might the wherewithal to ascertain a fuller notion of such language somehow escapes me, even now, like a quickly racing flicker of light, cast upon some distant object. Yet beyond these hinderances and obstacles the true nature of what information may be hidden from my person at this time, I can not tell, but only wonder at such a query and think on to the future of ages where such an occasion where I might learn these things might emerge.

See?
