posticon Peter Pan

Am I the only one that's seen it? Anyone else?

My cow. I won't compare it to ROTK because they are entirely different playing fields...but Peter Pan was my favorite (besides ROTK) movie of the year.

Post comments here emoticon

Oh. My Cow. It was sooo good. **hums the music from the Fairy Dance** Peter takes Wendy to this place in the jungle of the Neverland where they see a Fairy ball...then they dance while they're flying. OOOh man. SOOO jealous. Lol!

And then at the end when Hook and Pan are fighting, There's a part when Hook is telling Peter what will happen in the future...Peter's reaction is -*perfect*- My goodness..I can't talk enough about this movie. I'm obsessive.

I don't think this will be a SPOILER, but as it could be, I will put up a BIG SPOILER SIGN.

You know what I had never known about Peter Pan movies? (perhaps this was because I've only seen the Disney Peter Pan movie  ) They have the same actor play Wendy's father as Hook.

 emoticon

Wow, I cow. It was quite a shocker to read that (on comcast.net yesterday).

Yeah. Some critics are angry at the movie for that...thinking that they are trying to be clever and all, but that's a tradition that dates back to the early 1900's when the book was first published. Barrie (the author) turned it into a stage play, and had Mr. Darling and Hook played by the same actor for a reason.

The idea, is that while Peter is the title character, and certainly a very important part of the plot, the story is and always will be about Wendy. Wendy is told to grow up...so the audience is left to decide if the Neverland is a made up place she mentally goes to, to cope with growing up, OR a place she physically goes to. The connection with Hook being her father helps her confront the problem, sinse he's the one that tells her to grow up.

I'm rambling. *laughing*

I like how in the movie (SPOILER!) they made a big deal with the kiss. It's such a part of the book...and they used it really well. So cheers to the second PJ of movie making emoticon

I was going to see it last night, but we asked the ticket booth what it was like, and she told us it was a kid movie. So, we saw Cold Mountain. Now I wish I would have seen Peter Pan. emoticon lol

naughty Nath!

What's wrong with being a kid? I've seen it three times already emoticon

Everyone could use a dose of the boy who wouldn't grow up every now and again.

Re: Peter Pan

I quite agree with you, Bee, everyone should see Peter Pan!

Silly Nathie.

I saw Peter Pan on New Year's Eve! It was fantastic. I've always loved the Peter Pan story, and this must be my favorite version (like I said, I've only seen the Disney cartoon movie of PP). It was just so beautiful.... emoticon

I adored the dancing scene. That was PURE movie magic! *squeel* I think my best friend (Meg), who was with me at the time, had thought I'd gone a little loopy! And then of course, I even admitted to her that I thought the boy who played Peter (his name is slipping.....) would some day grow up into a cute guy. But hey, it's alright! Meg thought the same thing! And the girl that played Wendy is a little doll! What a cutie.

Anyone else wanted to slap her Aunt? Please. She needs it. I cannot STAND women who take social-climbing to such a degree. It's stupid. And Wendy's parents! Letting the Aunt take her! To "become a woman" at the *ripe* age of twelve, how crazy! Ugh! Let the kid BE a kid!

Can you tell I didn't like social conventions/mores of the times? emoticon

But! Back to my love of the movie! emoticon Before I get a little flustered at the Aunt.

Loved the Lost Boys! emoticon "Mother, Father. Let me introduce, the Lost Boys. .... Can I keep them?" :burst: Great stuff.

And Tinkerbell! Loved her! Naughty little fairies, ahhh, they're great!

I agree. Ooooooh the fairy dance. And Jeremy Sumpter is cute NOW. *laughing* When he pulls the arrow out of his acorn, and he says..."It's my kiss!" He's got this little lisp that cracks me up. So cute.

The other good scene is between Jas. Hook and Pan...

Let us take a peep into the future...the window is shut

I'll open it!

And barred.

I'll call out her name!

She can't hear you...

WENDY!

Oh my cow...the panic in his eyes was awesome.

Peter Pan tally:

Number of times seen: 3
