Re: The Legend of The Company
The Legend of The Company
Hobbits, Listen! young and old
to the tale that must be told
Of a most courageous Took
and his friends, come take a look
Thain Peregrin and his Diamond bright
travelled most all day and night
with a band that was most true
elves men hobbits and others too
A group forged aft the war of the ring
Saved middle earth from many a thing
had adventures here and there
travelled, travelled, everywhere
The Company became their name
each of them different, but yet the same
United by their love for all
be they short or be they tall
Thain Peregrin, so brave and true
and all his friends knew what to do
when the Orcs attacked an elven wood
there they fought as long as they could
The strangest lands you will ever see,
there they stopped catastrophe
they sadly sometimes lost friends, its true
but everywhere they went, gained new
Thain Peregrin lived a happy life
with his many friends and wife
He left some writings, it is true
though now lost, i can tell some to you
He talked of friends, named each one
but the list is long, so i will say none
and one he speaks of as being most fond
Has many names, but to us is Diamond
His Journals tell of scary beasts
and fondly of their many feasts
of many journeys, fun they shared
of losses, heartache and being scared
The Company became a mighty force
beloved by all, helping each in their course
until one night, not quite sure when
they dissapeared, vanished and were never seen again.
Since then upon us darkness fall
fear crept into the hearts of all
and long we wish, through trial and strife
Thain Peregrin and The Company return to their life.

Re: The Legend of The Company
This can kinda fit w/ the others:
“Now, Peregrin was the Thain of the Tooks. He’s known as Thain Peregrin the Brave. He was married to Areata the Fair. He didn’t really act as Thain because the king had come back and the only reason for a Thain in the first place was to keep order since the kingdom had crumbled. He and his cousin on his mother’s side, Esmeralda being Peregrin’s aunt, Meriadoc Brandybuck the Magnificient, the Master of Buckland, were greatly admired in the Shire because they had thrown out Sharkey, a bad old man, from Bag End the home of their friends, Frodo Baggins and Samwise Gamgee. All four of these hobbits got married so there are still Bagginses and Gamgees living there on the New Row in Hobbiton. Now these four had been involved with destroying something down in the south so that the whole world would be saved from darkness. To this day I still haven’t quite made out what it is they were exactly doing down there, but they won. Anyway, they would often ride through the Shire with their shiny mailshirts on, singing, laughing, telling their stories over and over again. Folk never got tired of their stories. Their parties are said to have been some of the funnest, happiest occasions ever. They were good friends with King Eomer of Rohan. Meriadoc, called Merry, would often visit there, and he would visit the Lady of Rohan, Eowyn, wed to Faramir, Steward of Gondor, who lived way down south in Ithilien. But also, Pippin and Merry as well as Sam and Frodo would often be away visiting their friends in Minas Tirith, the King Elessar and Queen Evenstar, she was actually an elf. These four hobbits also had friends in Stonewain Valley of Gondor. Now these people were “lordly” as we thought Pippin and Merry were. There were both elves and men among them as well as something called a Totoro. I never did figure out where he came from. He definitely wasn’t from Middle Earth. And these people were called the “Company of Middle Earth.”
Now, the Company were some very powerful people. Many had been involved in this errand down in the south, the one with the darkness and all. Most of the Elves were from Lothlorien, such as Asenath Lhundelor and Cheers. King Elessar’s sister, Lemarie, was in the group along with her husband, Elijah Wood and his friend Orlando Bloom, both from a different world, I believe, but I’ve never figured out where. There was also someone they called Carrots and her husband, Tobey Maguire. Tobey was also from Elijah and Orlando’s world. The four hobbits and their wives, Areata Took, Azaelia Baggins, Nzie Gamgee, and Baz Brandybuck, were also with this bunch. There were also some others from somewhere they called Narnia. I think it is somewhere south of Gondor but you can only reach it by sea. Now, they helped the King, that is Elessar, reestablish his kingdom and run out the ruffians. I’ve looked up quite a bit about them but much of it is from the reign of King Elessar then after that things get kinda few and far-between. Their daring adventures and heroic deeds are numberless. We hobbits came up with a song about these warriors of the past. Would you like to hear it?”
The Company nods their heads, eager to glean as much information as possible.
The old Took takes a deep breath and recites the poem, sung among his people long ago.
*Insert Rea's song*
The Company is taken by the beauty and simplicity of this verse that so eloquently describes them.
The dear, old hobbit continues with his tale, “Only a very few precious hobbits remember these people. Halfred Gamgee, Ponto Baggins, myself and Hanna Brandybuck love getting’ together and talkin’ over this stuff. If only we had someone like them now. There isn’t much left of this bunch. I hear their castle is in ruins, though I’ve never seen it myself. Most of their other architecture is in ruins too, I believe.”
“Does nothing remain of these brave people, then?” interjects Azzie.
“Well, actually, a tower of the Lady Elen, she was one of the elves, still survives. No one knows why that one is still up but it’s said that whenever someone tries to enter it, they are driven back by furious trees who actually come to life. Sounds a bit like the Old Forest over by Buckland to me. I’ve never seen it though I would love to visit it and see something that was actually built by them.”
At the news of angry trees, Luthien turns to Stephen mouthing the words “Fangorn, Ents.” The others are heartened by the Took’s words of “angry trees” for they know that the Ents of Fangorn forest have not forgotten them even after 680 years.
“Y’know, do you all have a place to stay? You are all welcome to stay here. We have more than enough rooms for everyone. Unfortunately, we might be a bit pressed to find some bigger accommodations for some of you,” the hobbit says as he has to crane his neck to see Orlando’s face.
“Actually, I think some of our friends could maybe stay in a lounge or some large room on sleeping bags or something like that,” says Rea.
“I think we could do that,” responds the hobbit.
The hobbit leads the Company to a large library where he leaves the girls and leads the guys down the hall to a living room. Three female hobbits enter the room laden with blankets. Each of the girls claims her own easy chair, as it would be much more comfortable than the hard polished wooden floor. Throughout all of this the girls are chatting quietly with each other about the hobbit’s words. Finally, after arranging the chairs in a semblance of a circle and the three hobbits have left, all the girls breath a huge sigh.
“Well, what do you think?” questions Thea to anyone who will listen.
“Wow, that’s what I think, wow!” answers Lemon.
“I’m kind of confused. What in the world are we doing here?” wonders Azzie aloud.
“I have no idea,” responds Lea.
“I’m slowly figuring things out. I think tomorrow we should go to Elen’s tower,” says Luthien.
“Well, definitely head to Elen’s tower tomorrow. But we’ll need supplies. By the way, El, why do you think your tower is the only one that survived?” inquires Asenath.
“I’m not sure. It could be because the Ents have guarded it so well, but there might be more to it than that,” replies Elen.
“Oh, the Ents. Isn’t that so cool how they haven’t forgotten us?” sighs Cheers.
“Yeahs” and sighs are heard throughout the room. The Ents seem to be the only hope given to the Company right now. Each girl nods off to sleep, almost already weary thinking about all the riding tomorrow.
Meanwhile, while the girls were speaking, the hobbit speaks to the boys.
“I didn’t say this before because I didn’t want to scare the ladies, (at this Orlando and Elijah smile knowing “the ladies” have seen things that would turn this hobbit’s hair white) but things in the Shire aren’t as cheery as I made them out to be. Rumors of Dark Elves amassing in the East and in the mountains scare us hobbits. We’ve had it good for a long time. The past, say, 600 years has been a golden age for the Shire, so wars are frightening. The thing is though, we don’t know how to fight these elves. They don’t seem to use concrete, practical weapons. They have, I don’t know, mind games and sorcery, hard things for me a practical hobbit to understand. I could tell, while leading you all here, that maybe some of you could help us. I’ll leave you to your rest now, but please think about helping us out,” pleaded the hobbit as he left the room.
After arranging themselves on the various couches and easy chairs, the guys talked a little bit before going to sleep.
“Well, I imagine the girls are already planning to head to Elen’s tower tomorrow,” remarked Orlando.
“I would imagine so. What do you think of his comment ‘didn’t want to scare the ladies’?” replied Elijah.
“I actually almost started laughing. That poor guy doesn’t have any idea,” said Stephen, smiling.
That set the guys laughing and admiring their brave women.
“What did you think of the halfling’s tale?” wandered Legolas.
“Well, it’s nice to know at least some of your people will remember what ‘magnificient’ things you did,” answered Merry.
“Yep,” replied Pippin sleepily.
Laughingly, Sam said, “I think we best turn in now, fellas.”
And they did, trying to decipher what everything meant and what they were supposed to do now.

Re: The Legend of The Company
The next morning, laden with supplies and food, the Company left the dear old Took for Elen’s tower. Their explanation was that they were so enamored by his tale that they wanted to see this tower for themselves. Between the magic of the elves, they had brought good health, good fortune, and happiness upon this hobbit’s family for at least a year in payment.
On the road again, the Company felt like they were traveling great distances for just little pieces of a tremendous puzzle. Hopefully, more would turn up at Elen’s tower.
Finally, Luthien spoke, “Y’know, I’ve been thinking. Obviously, someone made us time travel and I’ve been trying to figure who that ‘someone’ is. I haven’t figured out that ‘someone’ but I’ve come to another frightening conclusion. As far as we know, the only ‘person’ who can move us about in time is Aslan, so I’m afraid this person will be as strong as Aslan. I have this feeling though that this ‘someone’ is evil. I hope Elen’s tower will yield some answers. Well, there I go again putting a damper on everything.”
“Oh Luth, you do have a knack for doing that. But, you make a good point,” replied Mush.
“Gosh, do you really think they could be as powerful as Aslan?” wondered Baz.
“I’m afraid so,” answered Luthien.
To cheer things up a bit, Elijah and Orlando related what the old hobbit had told them the night before, emphasizing that dear hobbit’s concern for the girls. Then they all boosted their confidence by recounting their past adventures. Everyone had some anecdote or line that had stuck with them from their various trips to Narnia, Lorien, the Star Wars galaxies. After a while, all grew silent remembering. A few even sniffled when they thought of their children. But they continued riding…
Fangorn Forest loomed ahead. Merry and Pippin couldn’t hide their smiles at the possibilty of seeing Treebeard again. The Forest brought back many memories to all. Aragorn and Legolas were remembering when they first met Gandalf the White in this very forest. The Elves felt very young compared to some of the trees. Some trees had probably only been seedlings during the War of the Ring. The hobbits felt very small among these towering giants. Now to find Elen’s tower…
The Company spent the greater part of the afternoon making their way through the forest ending up at the River Limlight to find the Tower of Lady Elen. It was covered in creeping ivy and vines. There were not even sure this was the tower! Elen dismounted and pulling aside some vines found a metal door. Above the door was etched, Elen’s crest!
“Wow, I almost feel like I’m home!” exclaimed Elen.
“Well, go on, open it!” urged Caz.
As Elen worked on the rusty, old lock, two things dismissed by the Company as trees, shake and pull themselves to their full height.
“The Ents!” cried the Company.
“hoom-hoom, what is this? No one can enter Lady Elen’s tower! Brooharoom,” roared the Ent who resembles a birch tree.
“Oh my! But I am Lady Elen!” declared Elen
By this time the other Ent resembling an oak, was shaken up and proceeded to reach down and grab Elen. Cries were heard from the Company but one voice rose clearly and piercingly among the rest.
“Calentír, Orniaur, Kánokemen, Taurëtir
Tharris Edhelwen, Elenawen
Lasto beth nin, Quenya Fangorn,”sang Luthien
At this, the Ent put Elen down who scrambled to mount her horse. He then put his big branch-like hands to his mouth and called very loudly, “Hoom-bararaharroom-tsarinanian, dahrar-boom-bum, hroom-boom-bregalad.” Almost out of nowhere came another Ent. He had grey-greenish “hair” and would bend ever so slightly in the wind. He stared down at the Company from his great height.
“hroom-room, who are you? What is your business in Fangorn, hmm?” he bellowed in a deep, seemingly ancient voice.
“We would like to speak with Fangorn and gain entry into this tower,” Luthien answered in a clear voice, contrasting with the Ent’s slow speech.
“Fangorn, hom, hm? Fangorn has left. You might say I am Fangorn now. You may call me Bregalad,” responded Bregalad.
“Bregalad? In the Common Speech, that is Quickbeam. Quickbeam!” exclaimed Luthien.
“Yes, haroom, and who are you, Elf? We no longer trust the Elve,” replied Quickbeam.
“We are the Company of Middle Earth and we wish to enter our tower,” declared Luthien.
“No, the Company of Middle Earth left. You cannot be them. No one but them may enter this tower.”
“But we are the Company. Look among us. Don’t you recognize anyone, even myself, Luthien?”
“No, Luthien is gone. The Company is gone. However, I will meet with my companions and we may give you entrance to the tower, hroom.”
“Thank you, Quickbeam.”
The Company turns away and attempts to set up camp. When Sam attempts to light a fire, the birchlike Ent comes over and informs him that he can not light a fire in Fangorn Forest. So the Company moves out of the Forest and camps along the river. After recounting everything that has happened, they all fall into a fitful sleep.

Re: The Legend of The Company
Stephen opened his eyes. He was having the most delightful dream about a female elf who was dancing in the forest for a man who looked exhausted. She was singing beautifully to the man, when Stephen was jostled awake by Edmund.
“Morning, Stephen. Sleep well?” asked Edmund while he rolled up his blankets.
“Not particularly,” answered Stephen groggily.
Edmund uttered a tense laugh. “I had a tree root for a mattress. Not the most comfortable thing. Anyway, I was just speaking with Eomer and he said that Quickbeam has given us permission to enter the tower.”
Stephen stood up hurriedly at that. He dressed quickly and rolled up his blankets. Making his way out of the tent, he saw that most of the Company was awake. After strapping his pack onto his horse, he walked over to Luthien who was strapping her own pack onto her horse.
“Good morning, darling. Sleep well?” Stephen asked as he snaked his arm around her waist.
“Not exactly, but I rested sufficiently. How about you?” she responded as she turned around to face him.
“Well, I’m rested enough. I hear that Quickbeam will let us in,” Stephen answered.
“Yes, I’m curious to see what we find in there. There are so many unanswered questions, so many riddles,” she said.
“Hey, we’re the Company. We’ve got some of the smartest brains in the business. By the way, you did a great job handling those Ents yesterday. But, come on, let’s go meet up with everyone else,” he replied.
“Why, thank you, sir,” she responded as the two walked over to the fire where they met the rest of the Company.
It seemed as though the rest of the Company was just as excited about entering the tower as Luthien and Stephen were. Luthien walked up to Asenath. “So why are they going to let us in?” she inquired.
“Apparently, very early this morning, Quickbeam remembered Merry and Pippin from when they were here with Treebeard during the War. It took him the rest of the morning to explain that to the other Ents. You know how Entish goes,” answered Asenath.
“Oh yes. That I do. So what are we waiting for?” replied Luthien.
“Quickbeam,” sighed Asenath.
“Maybe I could hurry him along,” suggested Luthien.
“Please try,” urged Asenath.
Luthien went up to the three Ents.
“Good morning!” she said.
“Good morning, Elf-woman,” replied Quickbeam.
“So we can look in the tower?” she asked.
“Yes, as soon as I find the key,” he replied. “Ah, here we go! Hoom.”
Quickbeam went up to the tower, the Company following eagerly. He unlocked the great metal door and it swung open with a clang…
Everything looked very old. Dust covered every crevice. Even the air itself seemed ancient. Asenath gingerly walked into the tower with Elen beside her.
“It looks very different from when I saw it last. Everything is here though, I think,” Elen almost whispered.
“Yeah,” replied Asenath.
The rest of the Company slowly made their way inside.
“Ai! My Seeing Stone is gone!” called Elen, her voice echoing up the empty walls. It was not in its usual place, the groove in the center of the table next to her chair.
“Hang on, though. What’s in here?” said Lea, kneeling beside an old wooden chest. She easily broke the lock on the chest and opened it up. They crowded around the chest, anxious to discover what it holds. Lea first pulled out a bunch of aged papers, yellow around the edges. The papers were loosely held together by twine. She handed it to Fiz so that her hands were free to pick up the next thing.
“Oh, Bee! It’s your journal!” exclaimed Fiz.
“What!” Bee walked across the room to Fiz. “Oh my journal! My precious writings!” She immediately begins to leaf through it, cautiously so not to loose the binding.
Then, Lea pulled out a goblet and handed it to Fiz.
“It says ‘Holbytla Hall!” Fiz declared.
Azaelia and Frodo at once came to her side. “Oh my gosh! Wow!” exclaimed Azaelia.
Lea also found daggers of the Dunedain, which were restored to Lemon, and an elven star, which was immediately returned to Asenath.
“Y’know, this is really neat, but is this all that is left of us?” asked Areata.

Re: The Legend of The Company
Mush went over to Bee, who was quietly reading to herself from her journal. “Hey Bee, maybe you could read a little bit to us and we might be able to figure something out from your entries.”
“Sure, I can. Good idea, Tay!” responds Bee.
Laurie and Han lit the many torches along the wall with matches, as the others found seats on the stone floor with pillows or on the sparse antiquated furniture. Bee, with Elen’s permission, sat in Elen’s chair and began reading. “This one is dated March 25, 3021, Ring Day…”
Yep, today is Ring Day! A huge party is planned to mark the 2nd anniversary of the fall of Suaron. Of course, all of us are invited. By the way, we just got back from Narnia again.Apparently Caspian was having trouble with some giants in the North, and it turned out that there was this guy who was behind it all. Once we took care of the giants, we got rid of him and cleaned the place out. The time change always drives me crazy when we go to Narnia, though…”
“Here’s another one from a few weeks later.”
I was showing Han around Minas Tirith today. I took him through all the tunnels that go under the mountain. After awhile, he needed to see the sun again, though. We picnicked down by the River, then we decided to walk barefoot back to the city. The grass was so lush and cool, the sun casting its warm rays upon us. Then Han did a very un-Han-like thing, he tackled me and started tickling me!”
“Um, let me skip ahead,” Bee abruptly said to grins and chuckles from the Company. “Here we go. This is from that summer.”
Caz, Lea, and I headed down to the beach at Anfalas today. We had a fun afternoon talking about our past adventures, while we were resting on the warm sand after a quick dip into the ocean. Eventually, though, the conversation changed and we found ourselves talking about the end of the Company. I hope that never happens. I know it will sometime but I hope we’re together still for a very long time. I love the Company! And we’re not just the Company of Middle Earth. We’re real people. That’s part of the reason I keep my journal, so that even if it goes in some museum, I want history students to know that we were real people with emotions and ideas and creativity, along with all of our daring feats.”
“Wow, that makes me sad just reading that,” sighed Bee. She flipped to the last few pages, yellow with age and torn in a few places. There are also some watermarks on the page. “I have a feeling this might actually clue us in to something.”
Oh, my dearest journal, it’s so sad. My eyes are tearing up even as I write this. Everything is over. Many of us have left. I don’t know what I’m going to do now. Perhaps I can go into the West or maybe even go to Narnia. No, I’ll go into the West. I may sail off the world’s end but there is nothing here for me now. Even at the end of my life though, I will not despair. Perhaps it was best that this happened, but it is hard for me to see it now. I may yet understand in the future, but not now. I will not take me much with me because I have little need for many things. I believe I will leave this behind for posterity’s sake.Oh goodness, my tears are ruining the paper so I will finish soon. I do hope Middle-Earth remembers us, though, the last remnants of what some call the Elder Days. We will become legend, then myth, as Time runs her course, until the Spring.”
Many of the girls were sniffling with Bee’s sad words of the breaking of the Company.
“Well, does it say what happened to break them, er, us up?” questioned Elijah, who had his arm around Lemon to comfort her.
Bee carefully flipped through the pages to find an answer for Elijah. “No, I don’t think it does. Wait, what’s this?” Bee had flipped to the last page from which she read aloud, “Retrieved from the Archives of Minas Tirith, placed here with love, Daisy Baggins”
“Here’s my question, who’s Daisy Baggins?” wondered Eomer, turning his gaze to Frodo and Azaelia.

Re: The Legend of The Company
“The date of the inscription is 1626, almost 200 years after we seemed to have left. Now we’re almost 500 years after her,” said Bee.
“Well, she was probably a great-great, and so on, granddaughter of ours. How in the world would a hobbit have something of yours though, Bee?” replied Azaelia.
“If only I knew. Is there anything else here that we don’t know already?” wondered Bee as she began to sift through the papers in the chest. Fiz and Elen joined her.
“I’m just finding maps of places in Middle Earth and some from Narnia,” sighed Elen.
“Here are some more recordings of our journeys but these are ones that we have been on, not ones that we supposedly went on,” responded Fiz. “What in Middle Earth happened to us? Is there anyone who would have any idea or any place we could look stuff up?”
“I should think Quickbeam should know who Daisy was. Perhaps Merry and Pippin could talk to him and try to jog his memory,” suggested Tobey.
“Sure. Come on, Pip,” encouraged Merry as the two hobbits rose from their seats on the floor.
zippety-zing-zong, just moving along
Merry and Pippin returned shortly and informed the Company that had found little Daisy Baggins who was looking the tower because she had stuff that she wanted to leave there. Quickbeam was worried about her and did not want her wandering the forest alone so he took her “gifts” as she called them and promised her that he would protect the tower of Lady Elen at all costs and not let any marauders or thieves into the tower. She thanked him profusely and promptly left, never to be seen again by Quickbeam. “Apparently, though, many, many people have tried to break in and steal our things because they’re supposed to be worth trillions, like Frodo’s mithril shirt was worth the whole Shire, remember?” ended Pippin as the two finished recounting their conversation with Quickbeam.
“Wow! I’m in awe but it doesn’t seem like that has helped us very much. I propose we return to Stonewain and set up a temporary camp because I have a feeling we might be here, that is in this future Middle Earth, for a while,” commented Tobey. “After all, it is the only place that feels like home. We might even be able to think better there since it is all so familiar and recognizable.”
“I agree. Tobey has made a good suggestion and I believe we should set off as soon as possible so let us clean things up here a bit and be off,” added Edmund.
The Company quickly organized things in the tower and, after gathering up their things, they left the tower and went to their horses. Merry and Pippin thanked Quickbeam for opening the tower for them and asked that he continue to guard it with his life. As the Company yelled their thanks and turned with many a wistful glance at one of the last memories of the Company’s glory, they thundered off, eager to return to what home was left in Stonewain Valley, their once glorious castle…

Re: The Legend of The Company
The Company crested the hill and looked down into Stonewain Valley, their valley, their castle, their home.
“It doesn’t look so bad from up here,” remarked Mush. “It almost looks exactly how we left it when we went to sleep a couple nights ago.”
“That’s true,” replied Cheers, “yet my heart aches for our glorious castle. But, come, let us work with what we have.” The Company thundered down the hill.
“I, too, am saddened by seeing our once majestic dwelling reduced to rubble. Let us keep looking though for some clue as to our ending,” said Asenath as she dismounted among the leveled foundation.
They broke into small groups wandering around what had once been their gigantic estate.
Suddenly, they heard, “Ai!” Everyone ran towards what had been the back of the house, where Legolas stood, eyes glistening.
“What is it? What have you seen?” everyone asked.
“Look there in the trees. Do you see the treehouse?” answered Legolas as he pointed towards the small cluster of trees.
“Oh, if I only had the eyes of the Elves,” lamented Sam. “I don’t see anything except trees. That has to be at least fifteen miles away.”
“Shall we go check it out, sweetie? Come on, now,” comforted Nzie as she nudged Bill towards him.
“Yes, let’s go see what it is,” responded Badger. At that, everyone mounted and rode towards the trees. As they got closer, they saw that the treehouse stretched all the way around the four large trees. Each platform was connected by bridges which looked very flimsy as they were made of wood and rope.
“Oh, look at that! What in the world is this?” wondered Carrots as she pointed at a wooden sign on the largest tree. The sign read THE COMPANY OF MIDDLE EARTH. “It almost looks like a child’s playhouse. Tobey and Bee, come up with me. Let’s check this out.”
“Yes, Ma’am,” said Tobey with a grin on his face. Caz looked back at him with a smile and ascended the ladder, Bee following her and Tobey coming up last.

Re: The Legend of The Company
“Ow!” exclaimed Tobey, hitting his head on the low roof, which he had not anticipated.
“You alright, Maguire?” asked Carrots from her seat in the center of the wooden floor.
“Sure, I’m fine,” responded Tobey, rubbing his head as he moved to sit next to her.
The room in which they were seated was shaped as a pentagon and was furnished with cots, pillows, and very small, child-sized table and chairs. Covering the walls were numerous illustrations of what seemed to be Elves, Humans, and Hobbits, as well as something that resembled Totoro. They were also pictures of horses and swords. In addition to this room, there were two other rooms in each of the two other trees, which were also covered with illustrations. After investigating the treehouse, the three returned to the original room and concluded that someone was trying to imitate the Company, or they were huge fans and put up pictures as some people will do with celebrities.
“Well, let’s go tell the others what we found,” said Caz as she crawled over to the ladder and began to descend.
Once they saw Caz descending the ladder, the Company’s quiet chatter grew to a multitude of questions. Finally, Caz turned and, in reply to the most recent question, asked by Cheers, said, “Apparently, th—“ but she was interrupted by a scream. Turning towards the sound, they saw a little girl, running away from them, obviously frightened. Worried about her but not wanting to scare her anymore, the Company remained where they were as Lemon ran after her.
“Aw, sweetie, what’s the matter? I’m not going to hurt you. Come here. Can I help you?” said Lemon as she crouched to meet the girl’s eyes and tried to coax her out of the bush. Then, Lemon whispered a few Elvish words which sent the girl running into Lemon’s outstretched arms. Lemon scooped her up and spoke gently to her as she made her back to the Company, when it started to rain. In order to converse with the girl and not get her wet, Lemon took her up to the treehouse with Mush, Azaelia, and Luthien following closely behind her.
“First of all, what’s your name, sweetie?” asked Lemon once all had sat down. Immediately, the girl, feeling that she could trust these people, one definitely looking like a hobbit and another one like an elf, informed them that her name was Faye. Her best friend’s mind had been “hurt” by an elf in Greywood Forest when they were gathering berries for a “party”. She and her friends were afraid that the Dark Elves would soon take over the valley so she came back to the treehouse to recover a few things before all was lost. When Lemon asked her where her friends were, Faye answered that they had already gone to the “most secret hideout,” plotting to save their friend.
“Faye, my friends and I are willing to help you rescue your friend,” offered Lemon.
“Thank you, but my friends and I make up the Company of Middle Earth and we can definitely handle a few Dark Elves on our own,” answered Faye. The four Companiers threw glances at each other. Then, “The Company of Middle Earth, hmm? And who are they, may I ask?” questioned Mush.
The girl gushed on and on about the Company and how they saved Middle Earth ages ago.

Re: The Legend of The Company
She goes on and on, gushing of how they were the Great Protectors of Middle-Earth long ago, and that she and her friends had all learned about them before their lands had been overrun by Dark Elves, that two years ago they had met, and decided to become the new Company, and save the whole world some day just like the Company of Past. Largely moved by everything Faye tells them, the Company girls have to have a meeting with everyone else to decide what they will do. Lemon stays with Faye in the treehouse, who quickly packs some of her things up, and soon they are ready to follow her to the "most secret hideout".
She leads the Company through the forest behind Stonewain, familiar grounds to all of them. They come to a clearing, where on the ground is a large slab of wood. Faye leads them through it to an entry in the ground. She brings them to an opening, a cave it seems, the walls stone, an underground spring. It is lit by a fire, and expecting to see a number as great as they, the Company observes only five small figures. Faye introduces them to Lemon, who reveals herself as "Mon", and tells them she and her friends stumbled across the treehouse and want to help save Faye's friend from the Dark Elves.
A young boy, revealed as Lond, tells his friends to introduce themselves. One by one they give their titles. "Ridgar Took", "Berlo Baggins", "Lily Gamgee", "Merimac Brandybuck", "Faye Wood", and "Lond MaGuire"...

Re: The Legend of The Company
So the Company rode off to conquer the Dark Elves and they did! It was a hard battle but pooling their resources and using their ingenuity and creativity they rid Middle Earth of the hold of the Dark Elves.
