This should be fun if a bit challenging.

I have worked on getting all sorts of mettalic looks with quite a bit of success but nothing that would survive a convention.

A bit of chemistry is at hand here.

Personally, I think Lifeguards slightly later look with the feather-like hair is quite something.

We tested the skin paint and found a better mettalic skin paint that is better than the red or green paint I've worn before. Not sticky, it dries fast and smooth, like silk, and does not rub off the skin, albeit it does rub off on other materials but a good cover stays on the skin. It will wash off with soap and water. It's expensive!

Also found a good gold spray paint to paint the wings. Made for textiles and leaves the feathers feeling natural and shiny.

Nice find Kelly! This reminds me of the good old days when you were putting Purgatori together. I'm sure you'll bring Lifrguard to life in the same way and I can't wait to see it on you emoticon

Well over the holidays finally got something that will give a metallic look and stay in place (more or less).

So now wings and costume and wig.

One thing that also worked (sort of) was a way to put a false diamond dust one that pretty much covers the skin (very thickly). So maybe I can do Emma in her Diamond form one day.

Most excellent! Can hardly wait to see! What were the brands of the colors you used that worked well with the skin?

It's called Mehron and you have to get it mail order. It's expensive but a good costume is worth it.

Mehron! I know of it and have used it for Klingon makeup in the past - use Ben Nye for Klingon now, but Mehron is excellent stuff emoticon
