A few weeks back, I had the pleasure of visiting a fantastic exhibit at the Fashion Design Institute Center in downtown Los Angeles. The exhibit was called "Dressing A Galaxy" and contained 60-70 costumes by Trisha Biggar from Ep. I-III, and a handful of costumes from the original trilogy (including Boba Fett and Slave Leia, of course). It was a great opportunity to see the original costumes up close and in person. There was an entire room of Padme's costumes (roughly a third of the entire exhibit).
The website is http://starwars.fidm.edu/ in case you want to take a look at what's posted - a great resource for reference photos. I took a bunch of digital pictures (despite the rule of no flash photography). I'd be happy to post them/e-mail them if you or anyone else is interested. I'm not sure where the exhibit was headed next, but it may be something you want to see in person - I highly recommend it.
Good luck with your Senator's gown and Catwoman costume. From your past costumes, I know you will do these two justice.
