Captaion Zorikh Costume contest at Big Apple Convention June 24 with prizes! (pic)
The Captain Zorikh Costume Contest, co-hosted by Jolie Voltaire, acknowledged as being the most fun costume contest on the east coast, returns to the Big Apple Convention, New York’s longest-running comic book/science-fiction/fantasy/pop culture convention, on June 23-24 at the Penn Plaza Pavilion, 401 7th Ave at 33rd St. in New York City. A star-studded lineup of celebrities from movies, TV, boxing, wrestling, and more will be present, along with dealers, panel discussions, games, and more.
Come as any character from comic books, science-fiction, fantasy, horror, or make up your own! jusging will be done by the patented "applause-o-meter" system on the basis of costuming excellence and presentation, so come prepared to perform!
Prizes this time include a $100 gift certificate for Halloween Adventure, aand 100 gift certificate for Forbidden Planet, the latest CD from Midnight Syndicate, a copies of Osman Karriem's novel "The God Wreaith," and copies of the latest issue of Captain Zorikh’s Watch This Space Comics and Stories.
For the first time ever, through the sponsorship of Going.com, people will be able to RSVP for the convention on http://going.com/bigappleconevent and automatically be entered in a chance to win a $1000 shopping spree or $500 gaming shopping spree at the convention!

The Big Apple convention is known for its extensive list of spectacular comic book talents, and this show is no exception. Confirmed attendees include artists and writers Alex Maleev, Alex Nino, Alex Saviuk, Brian Kong, Buzz, Chris Brimacombe, Cameron Stewart, Dan Fogel, Denny Fincke, Ed Traquino, Ernie Chan, Guy Dorian, Ian Dorian, James Rodriguez, James Webb, Jay Lynch, Ken Kelly, Khary Randolph, Louis Small, Jr., Melvin Ylagan, Mark Mazz, Mark Sparacio, Matthew Clark, Michael Golden, Michael Oemming, Murphy Anderson, Paul Gulacy, Rags Morales, Ray Felix, Rich Buckler, Richard Howell, Rodney Ramos, Rudy Nebres, Sal Cipriano, Skip Williamson, Michael Lark, Mitchell Breitweiser, Rudy Nebres, Tommy Castillo, and Walt Simonson. NY Jedi will be hosting its famous lightsaber Academy. There will also be discussion panels, celebrity Q&A sessions, and special surprise entertainments and programming, film and performances.
For the first time, The Big Apple Convention will have a full game room, featuring the latest and greatest in role-playing games, board games, and more, with tournaments and prizes.
