Get togethers
I know some of us are scattered but for others I kinda miss the old garage get togethers.
Thoughts?

If I had a garage, and if I knew anyone within 100 miles of DC, I'd definitly throw one.
My Catwoman and I were just discussing doing some hospital visits last night and we realized it just wouldn't work without a Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, etc.

Emma, i'm with you on that. I really do miss those days. If mot a huge workshop; maybe a small get together amongst a few good friends?
Paul, are you kiddin me??? Although the JLA is an amazing team, the Bat and the Cat are stand alone characters. I think you two would be a hit by yourselves. BTW, I do wish you were closer so you could hang out with us.

Thanks Al. I wish we lived closer too. In fact, this morning I wish we lived in Florida or California or anywhere where it isn't cold as a Witches knee outside.
As for the hospital visits, I just worry that in this day and age, if a single person showed up and said hi, I want to spend some time with your sick kids, they'd be politely escorted off the premises. While, if it was a group who could put on more of a show, then do the visiting, odds are they'd be more likely to be welcomed.

We were recieved quite well at our community Halloween fun fair which is conducted each year for all the kids in the community. But you have to let the people in charge know you will be there and get to know them first. Also we donated money to the fun fair. Perhaps if you donated money to the children's hospital in the name of your group your reception and attendance to cheer up the kids will be more welcomed.
Money talks, nobody walks. Even the roads to best intentions are paved with gold.....

Emma put up a good post about this in another thread the jist of which was about credibility. With a group, you have more of it and therefore don't freak anyone out when you approach them and say "Hey, we'd like to come to your facility and entertain the kids" as opposed to "I"

What Emma and I did was we got a business license, then we created a business web site with a domain name to fit our business, then we had professional business cards made. We put up some of our best work on the web site. Then we professionally approached the places we'd like to make an appearence at. It also gets us into the comic cons for free under a professional status.

I also miss the parties and the drinking.
We have a very nice rose garden and bistro with a large patio heater that wil burn you up. Our patio yard is a nice place to gather now. Smoking is allowed there. We have lots of accent lighting and music out there too. Bistro style wrought iron tables and chairs. You're surrounded by tree roses.
We also have a smashing new 150 gallon aquarium under the wall tv too.
The bar is still there but more decorated now.
We really should have a party!!
