I miss the garage propping days myself with other Ghostbusters and the 501st members building all sorts of things....
I have a garage and up in Anaheim, but would pop on down to my good ole home town of San Diego anytime for that!
Just miss propping with people, period - been a dry spell and I miss the friendship and fun! I also miss getting together with friends with sewing machines and making bustle gowns or whatever we needed for Costume Con/College!
Another fun place to get together and hang out is (don't laugh) Dave & Busters - been to prop parties in the private rooms and then running around having a blast in the game room.
I think a monthly gathering is a GOOOOD thing!
and oh, do tell about the business and whatcha two make!

We make costumes and costume props and we do photography and amature video.
We leaning away from the costume making in favor of more costume prop making simply because of time.
We subcontract most of the new costumes we design now and concentrate on the props and make up and studio photography.
Our costume props are wings, capes, belts, accessories, all in leather. Body art and make up.
I've done nude body art modeling in fact.
We'll be coming out soon with a new style of gun belts that can be used for cowboy shooting and in fantasy costumes as well.

A lot of Yahoo groups who really do socialize outside of the internet select places to meetup.
Since it appears we have a number of people in the San Diego area and those willing to travel to san diego for socializing face to face shall we select a place to socialize regularly and then plan for garage events as we fell comfortable with?

COOL! Slumber parties! I like slumber parties!
Let's plan to start something after Christmas...
In the mean time let's pick a place to meet up that will get us in the mood for the new comic con season.
Throw your suggestions in to the hat.
My first choice would be this:

It's not very far from our place and it sits on a real studio property next to a television and movie studio which is used to film tv shows and movies in San Diego.
It will get us fired up to perform well at the comic cons. The owner is a Bruce Willis look-a-like and the place looks like an old diner from the 50's.
I'd love to hear your suggestions :-)
