Re: Get togethers
Studio diner - intereresting and not a bad suggestion.
Open 24/7 also.
Wonder how they would take to Blade making a midnight visit with crew in tow?

Re: Get togethers
I grew up in San Diego in Rancho Santa Fe, and my father and stepmother live in La Jolla on Mt. Soledad - talk about the view!
Before moving up here to Anaheim, I was living in Kensington, just a few block walk to the Ken Cinema - loved the area so much - and really miss it!
Got laid off the day after I returned from DragonCon in 2001 and watched 9/11 live on TV (sigh). I had a hard time finding a job close to my pay scale and at the time had an annual pass to Disneyland and have friends working there and was suggested why not be adventerious and work at Disneyland and have a change of venue - be bold, be daring, etc etc - so here I am...moved up here March 2002. It's not San Diego, that is still my home, and not sure what will happen in the year or two to come. At least I'm only an hour away to 1 1/2 hours, so not tooo bad. After 16 years of ComicCon living 10 to 15 minutes away, hard to get used to having to have a hotel room and all that to contend with - 2005 made my 20th year of attending SDCC
oh - some SDCC news - San Diego finally signed the contract through 2008, keeping it IN San Diego; however, 2009 might find it up in Anaheim.
--- I may be bad....but I feel good.

Re: Get togethers
Sounds like typical San Diego politics, always shooting themselves in the foot.
Turning their back on their largest and most money making event of the year because the uppity media and city government feel the event is inappropriate for America's Finest City.
But our city concil will sell thier soul, workers pensions, and risk jail time to have new ball parks and strip joints to passify the cry baby ball teams and their owners.
There is such an aire of false aristocrasy in this city. Like a penniless homeless person walking the Gaslamp Quarter in a fine tux and top hat. All looks but no substance and all fake. Like the L.A. Hollywood elite that San Diego aspires to be.
If it wasn't for career, weather and realestate holdings we'd leave this place for something real up north.

Re: Get togethers
What makes this awkward for me is that it's Tiana's birthday. I'll see what i can do. I'd like to come over solo if I can help it. Keep me posted.
