The way you have to approach this is to show you are a legit group.
There is a group of people that created a site for their area which they call Heroes Alliance.

They put up picutres of their costumes, and a code-name that is not a tm name (avoids complications).

Then you can approach a hospital or similar and show that you have a group, people and that you are legit. It goes a long way.

That's pretty much what I was thinking. A group has more credibility in these sensitive times.

The Childrens' Hospitals are a great place - as a member of the 501st, we've been to the San Diego, LA and Las Vegas Children's Hospitals and had some give aways and took pictures and did what we could to put smiles on their faces...we've been in the cancer wards most of the time and talk about what it meant to us to see those children smile at us!!

hmmmmm Al, you were at this year's City of Hope Cancer Survivor Picnic and know what it is about - this was my 6th year doing it! I need to keep in touch with John on the theme for 2006 and having several super heroes would be a great addition!!! Give GL some companions!

and everyone gets to ride the lil train around the park too emoticon

Yes, the City Of Hope cancer survivor's picnic was a great experience for me. Hanging out with those kids and watching their faces light up was priceless and so well worth it.
