Unbeleivable indeed.....

Can you imagine those 2 fighting.
Mayweather would be hovering around 147lbs
and Manny barely breaking 140 the day of the fight. What a mismatch.

Seems like something Mayweather would want to do though. He has shied away from real competition for a few years now. No doubt Pac would take the fight though.

“There is no truth to the rumor of Manny fighting Floyd. Floyd is 147 pounds and Manny is 130 pounds,” wrote Shelly Finkel in an e-mail to Viva Sports/Standard Today.

Apperantley it was all a rumor and we can all sleep at night.

Yeah I didn't see it on any other websites so I thought it was BS. Mayweather and de la Hoya are gonna go for it this September. There is too much money for Oscar to pass it up.

Re: Margarito vs. Mayweather

In a recent interview with Franklin McNeil of The Star-Ledger, Floyd Mayweather, Jr. adviser Leonard Ellerbe, fired back at the camp of WBO welterweight champion Antonio Margarito, by saying that there is no way that Floyd is ducking the power-puncher from Mexico.

"First and foremost, Floyd's been in about 16 world championship fights. Margarito, from last I checked, has four losses. He's never fought an elite fighter. I repeat, he's never fought an elite fighter," said Ellerbe. "Floyd is the best fighter in the world. He's fought top-level competition throughout his career. He's never ducked or dodged anyone. And last I checked, Floyd's undefeated.

Ellerbe did state that he felt Margarito is a good fighter, he is in the running to be Mayweather's November 4 opponent, but Floyd will make easy work out of him if the two fighters ever meet in the ring.

"Margarito's a good fighter. He's not a bum. We don't have a problem fighting Margarito. Floyd will make easy work of him just like he does everybody else. There's no way a slow, flat-footed fighter is going to beat the best fighter in the world. There's no way."

Then f-ing fight Margarito and get an "easy" $8 million out of it if thats the case. If he realy wants to fight guys the people want to see him fight, than take on Margarito. Theres no ifs ands or buts about it, this is the guy everyone and there mother wants him to fight!

The new rumor has Winky Wright being offered a fight against Margarito. The plot thickens.

Wright will pull a Mayweather and avoid Margarit and re-fight Taylor for more money and a 50/50 split. Margarito should just jump ship and sign on with Golden Boy promotions and see what he can get him, since Bob Arum can't do crap.

Well Wright pulled a "Mayweather". He says he wants the money Mayweather would have gotten, 8 million dollars. What's wrong with Margarito? Does he have some infectious disease?
