Re: Margarito vs. Mayweather
It's funny how Mayweather's huggers think he would beat this fighter and that fighter easily. Mayweather himself has turned down the fight twice. Why? What is everyones excuse for Mayweather. There is no excuse! Take the fight, no other major name is available at this time. Why pass up 8 million for a supposed easy payday. The shame about Mayweather is that he thinks being undefeated is all there is to boxing. Love him or hate him, when de la Hoya was Mayweather's age he was fighting guys like Whitaker, Trinidad and Quartey. And you know Oscar knew all these guys could beat him. Mayweather should take a hint from that guys career, instead of following the Roy Jones blueprint who fought a bunch of stiffs and after he got knocked out and beat at the end of his career people were beginning to wonder how good he was in the first place. It's better to take your shot win or lose.

Re: Margarito vs. Mayweather
A little exchange i had with some good for nothing sports writer about this article (http://www.doghouseboxing.com/DHB/Casile_072506.htm
pedro beltran <ocdodger78@yahoo.com> wrote: Mike,
How can you possibly suggest that Margarito is not as good as advertised just because he's had a few losses in his career?
a. Margarito was never a protected fighter like Mayweather had been early in his career.
b. The first 3 losses where when he was 16,17 and 18 respectively, against older and with better record fighters.
c. The other loss against Santos was
And your not making excuses? Dont you get it. Bob Arum is setiing this all up. He has not promoted a big fight in awhile. He needs this. Ok, I am interviewing Floyd this weekend. I am going to BEG him to fight this chump. I am going to read him all these emails.

Re: Margarito vs. Mayweather
Francisco Espinoza is Antonio Margarito's representative or one of them and he's basically stating that they even offered Mayweather 10 million to fight Margarito and he still declined the offer, amazing. Also, regarding Golden Boy Promotions offer of puting up Winky Wright, he states that they offered to fight him at 158 oe 154 but that they counter offered with the stipulation of the fight taking place at 147 and they also declined.
