To say that this board will be controversial is an understatement as it goes against almost everything society presently believes to be true about emotions, feelings, life and love. But then why wouldn't it be controversial if the desire and goal is the opposite of what is presently being experienced! To empower yourself, you need to be open to challenge everything you believe to be true, especially about love, life, emotions and feelings and also be willing to end your denials of self.

Hi Everyone,
One of the first things that people get into that is outside Religion that is safe is astrology. Almost everyone knows what sign they are (Im a Scorpion) Astrology, at best is a general guideline in the broadest sense, to try to define your issues and experiences. It is knowledge that is handed down and recited as such. If such and such is in this house, then this and that will happen. While it is a tool, it is by no means the tool for self-empowerment.
Cards and Tarot decks, while they have similar general descriptions, they are also open to interpretation, to intuition and to guides. Therefore they can be more accurate as to what is going on in your life or what will be going on, but like Astrology, they are only a guide to let you know where you need to look inside to find what you are searching for on the outside.
Of all the card sets I have, the four I used most often were, Medicine Cards, The Shapeshifter Tarot, The Crystal Ally Cards and Soul Cards. Soul Cards have no descriptions, only pictures that are left open to your feelings and intuition and Ive found them especially effective in doing emotional work with myself and with others.

I do prefer Tarot/Divination decks as I seem to live my life through active use of symbols and themes. Long time ago I created a word deck for myself as well ... and I find that drawing one of those cards helps me to focus when reading tarot (ie, I will draw a word card with tarot card). I am a fan of sacred geometry, and I came across a divination deck wich utilizes that---so many of the readings are only one or two cards, which I find more effective for myself. I like to take one theme, one symbol, and meditate on it for a few days or weeks.
I am only a dabbler in astrology, but I know more about it than the average person. In my life I seem to notice the theme of the North Node and Chiron the most. Saturn as well. These seem to be the great teachers of the Zodiac. Although Jupiter can be a sneaky culprit since he is prone to excess
