Mid 70's League
After an astronaut named Major Tom disappeared after an encountered a cosmic abnormality (a space oddity, if you will), the English government orders a new League formed to determine what happens and if it is a threat. However, after not being needed for years, there are only two members of that division:
Susan Pevensie (the Narnia books), now in her mid forties, and bitter from missing her chance to live in paradise
Igor (the movie Young Frankenstein), her assistant, formerly the assistant to one of the descendants of the legendary Dr. Frankenstein.
Due to pressure from British Member of Parliament James Jasper, very few heroes are operating in public. Still, Susan manages to recruit a couple:
Diana Starr (Diana for Girls Annuals), a teenaged girl with a rocket belt who manages her father's amusement park.
Alb*s D*mbl*d*r* (the H*rry P*tt*r series of novels), the headmaster of a secretive school for magic users.
Desperate for help, Susan requests aid from the U.S., and they send:
Foxxy Cleopatra (the movie Austin Powers in Goldmember), one of their top secret agents, despite her being pissed at her ex, a British secret agent who stood her up.
Leroy Brown (from the song Bad, Bad Leroy Brown by Jim Croce), who is recovering from injures received in a fight, but is still the baddest man around.
Milo Moray (from Robert Adam's Horseclan series), a retired Army officer, skilled in a wide variety of areas, and who is secretly immortal.
Rounding out the group is Maureen Birnbaum, Barbarian Swordsperson (from George Alec Effinger's book of the same name), a former Valley girl who has become unstuck in time and space, and who seems to pop up where ever she's needed most.
