Fictional equivalents of real people
One thing I loved about The Black Dossier was the way Moore and O'Neill used replaced historical figures with fictional counterparts. For example, Herr Hynkel for Hitler and Gloriana for Queen Elizabth I.
I have been thinking of some others who could be used.
President Palmer (from 24) as President Obama
Adam Lang (from the novel The Ghost) as Tony Blair
The Rutles as the Beatles
Jack Stanton (from the novel Primary Colors) as Bill Clinton
Apollo Creed (from the Rockyfilms) as Muhammad Ali
Melchester Rovers (from Roy of the Rovers) as Manchester United
Johnny Fontaine (from The Godfather) as Frank Sinatra
Bruce Delamitri (from the novel Popcorn) as Quentin Tarantino
Admiral Percy Fitzwallace (from the TV show The West Wing) as Colin Powell
D!ck Tracy as Eliot Ness
Well that's a start. Any other ideas?

Re: Fictional equivalents of real people
Surely Sgt. Pepper's Lonley Hearts band as The Beatles.
Ziggy Stardust as David Bowie
Sgt. Rock as Major Richard Winters
Tony Camonte (The original Scarface) as Al Capone
Charles Foster Kane as William Randolph Hearst
The Fletcher Brothers (from Get Carter) as the Krays

Re: Fictional equivalents of real people
Here's a bunch I've compiled:
Norman Bates (Psycho) as Ed Gein
Jackie Chiles and Yev "The Soup Nazi" Kasem (Seinfeld) as Johnnie Cochran and Al Yeganeh
Popeye Doyle (The French Connection) as Eddie Egan
Raoul Duke (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas) as Hunter S. Thompson
Hannah Montana as Miley Cyrus
London Tipton (The Suite Life of Zack and Cody) or Milan Carlton (Dirt) as Paris Hilton
Christopher Tracy (Under the Cherry Moon) as Prince
Drederick Tatum (The Simpsons) as Mike Tyson (especially likely, as Moore is an admitted fan of the show)
Brian Sweeney Fitzgerald (Fitzcarraldo) as Carlos Fermín Fitzcarrald
Ronnie "Z-Man" Barzell (Beyond the Valley of the Dolls) as Phil Spector
BTW, I'm not a Disney Channel fan, despite what two items on the list above might indicate.
