Yeah the pictures of Richard E Grants 9th Doctor look very much like a Dr for the Goth generation.

I know this news will come a little late, but BBCi are showing a web series produced by Cosgrove 'Dangermouse' Hall Films. Richard E'get in the back of the van!'Grant is providing the voice for the DR, who's cartoon incarnation resembles the actor with a touch of the creepies about him. Website being: www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho.

Problem is...I think it started on the 13 of Nov emoticon

Oh? Didn't I mention this before??
(Darn, that's the problem with starting one too many Dr. Who 40th birthday thread on so many different Message Boards).
Yes, the BBCi are broadcasting Scream of the Shalka (with Richard E. Grant as the Ninth Doctor). Every Thursday there's a new chapter. If you missed the first couple of episodes you can find links to them right below the one that leads you to the current episode. (There's also a few with some of the older animated versions of Who also available). This being Dr. Who and this being the BBC don't expect great F/X or animation techniques (which, in many ways, it's part of the charm, I think). Having said that, Scream of the Shalka is full-animation, as opposed to the earlier online broadcasts. Plus, Sir Derek Jacobi no less plays the role of an old favorite...

No apologies are necessary. As it turns out I checked this thread and realized I DID mention the BBCi broadcast --ON ANOTHER MESSAGE BOARD (though nton sort of mentions it here from a direct quote).
So, it's probably MY attention span which requires some fine-tuning. emoticon

Of course it's hard to get ALL those episodes here in the states, but Dr Who was been a fixture on many local stations, particulary on the NY public channel in the 90's.
My hat is off to any literary figure who can stand the test of time, or, in the Doctor's case, dodge it.
While I have enjoyed all the English Doctors, particularly John Pertwee and while the thought of Malcom McDowell fills me with glee, I would love to see John Lithgow take a stab at the Doctor in something. While most people know his alien persona from television comedy, his most wonderful alien character was in 'Buckaroo Banzai'.
The Doctor would be meat for him!

 emoticon

Hmmm.... emoticon Apparantly the revised idea is that the casting for Who will go along the 'new face, un-typecast' idea, so it's possible that it will be an Unknown person rather than anyone suggested... according to Peter Davison (or one of the them, at least.. emoticon), that is. emoticon
