Cheers, unfortunately though I haven't got those pesky cookies sorted out yet.So although I can visit the DC boards I'm not able to post on there at the moment.Well at least until saturday.I really must make an effort to learn a bit more about computers .Still I can post on here.
DCB is always a bit dodgy anyway - what with having to re-log in everytime and so on... oh well.
Thank Goodness for this Forum!

Re: Supernatural Crime Novels
Thanks for the author ideas I received in an earlier reply. On Will Kingdom, I did find out that he is actually Phil Rickman. I have tried Rickman in the past, and wasn't thrilled. Does anyone know how the Will Kingdom novels compare to Rickman's? Different styles or contents?

Re: Supernatural Crime Novels
Now that is an interesting piece of information.Must admit I never knew they were the same author.I've only read one Phil Rickman novel and like you say it didn't particularly "grab" me.However I did think the Will Kingdom books were good,so if you've got any spare Cash just get one to see what you think.

Supernatural book inquiry
Might as well stick this here as anywhere else.I remember reading a book a few years back, but I cannot remember the title or author. It was a story set in Britain and part of it involved some undead Saxon warriors and I think a reincarnated Witch. One particular scene in the book involved some mounted Police clashing with the Saxons. It was similar to the Phil Rickman type of novels but I'm pretty sure it was by someone else. Can anyone help?

Probably not, BUT..., if it was a Comedy/Fantasy tale, then it could have been by Tom Holt. There's one with some.. oh no. They were Vikings. Sorry..

Unfortunately no,It was more fantasy leaning toward horror.Mind you I have read a few Tom Holt books and quite funny they are too.

Re: Supernatural Crime Novels
They're not exactly 'pure' crime novels, but there is some police procedural stuff in the delightful L. Sprague DeCamp 'Enchanter' series of short stories and novellas.
Set in the late forties or early 50's (?), the hero discovers that all universes are parallel and that imagined fantasy worlds created as literature in our world are real environment with their own physical laws in other dimensions.
Shades of Alan Moore and 'idea space'!
I highly recommend DeCamp's 'The Compleat Incomplete Enchanter' by Baen books. It is a fantasy/SF romp that I never tire of re-reading.
SPOILER:
-the policeman investigating the 'disappearance' of Harold Shea, our hero, is whisked away to another universe, too!
