More Films
Just thought it might be worth having a topic for films...
#1: Matrices. Someone was asking about interpreting and understanding the traves.. erm.. third 'Matrix' film... If anyone's still interested, try: The DC Superman People's take on it..
#2: Timeline has time travel in... time travel's good...
#3: An article in the Telegraph today about Peter Jackson suggests that work is going on strong with his remake of King Kong. Also, apparantly he wanted to make the Hobbit, not LoTR, but the rights were difficult to acquire. As such, he's still hoping New Line Cinema will get them, then let him make that too... but as far as has been reported.. nothing doing yet.

Re: More Films
Hopefully the King Kong movie will banish the horrible memories of that dreadful 70's remake. The original is one of the best movies ever made and would be in my top ten movies easily.

Re: More Films
Anyone got any thoughts as to the casting of Matthew McConaughey as Dirk Pitt in a upcoming film based on the book Sahara by Clive Cussler.I ask this as Dirk Pitt is very much a modern day "pulp hero"and could easily fit into a contemporary "League".In fact I'm sure someone told me in one of his more recent adventures he discovered Captain Nemo's Nautilus. However I've only read a couple of the earlier books so I don't know.

Re: Sahara
Aha- a friend of mine is working as a set designer on Sahara- I'll pump her for information.
So far she's been doing lots of set decoration, making model tanks and so forth. Her take on the film is that it's being made as a slice of gung ho propaganda.
Interestingly, they're filming Batman:Whatever at the same studio, but security is tighter than the proverbial gnat's chuff, so no gossip there.

Re: More Films
I've never read the Sahara book so I'll have to wait and see.I see the actor playing the villain in the new Batman film was the lead in 28 Days Later. So I imagine he'll be playing the Scarecrow.

Dancing Dracula
...according to the 'New Releases' page in the Tegelraph the other day, the surrealist Canadian Dracula Ballet version type thing is being released imminently.
Quite what that's all about, (since it was on BBC2 some weeks back), I have no idea. But keep an eye open..! It's.... absurd, but faintly endearing in an odd sort of almost-way..!

Loony Tunes
Here's a recommendation.I've just seen the film Loony tunes:Back in Action, and I can highly recommend it.Apart from one brief second It entirely erases the bad memory of the travesty that was Space Jam(surly a criminal waste of such great characters).Like any Joe Dante movie it is jam packed with cameos(much like our beloved League in that respect).Without trying to spoil it too much the Area 52 sketch is priceless, forget a certain Doctor, guess who's back. And a great canteen scene with two Shaggy's,one real and one not so,I'll leave it to the viewer to decide.

Anyone in the US watching Dinosaur Planet on Discovery US tonight?Over here in Blighty we'll probably have to wait a year or so before it arrives.

Re: More Films
Well at least the BBC have learned their lesson from last year (with the worst version of The Hound of the Baskervilles). And haven't done any adaptations of note in the "thriller" type vein this year. However I seen the old Basil Rathbone Holmes story's are been shown.

Re: More Films
I'm I the only one totally Underwhelmed by the thought of Keanu Reeves playing Constantine in the upcoming movie? However the film Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow certainly looks interesting as it appearers to be a homage to the old RKO Flash Gordon/King of the Rocket men serials with a bit of Metropolis thrown in.
