On the suject of Hong Kong Movies,I've just found out that there is a new book just come out called
Spooky Encounters
By Daniel O'Brien.
And published by Headpress books.
It is a guide to the Hong Kong Horror movies and looks interesting enough that I'll be getting a copy.

I bought Shaolin Soccer on the strength of good reviews and was rather disappointed- the action relies wholly on special effects, and despite a few good scenes the film never really holds together.
I'm much more interested to see Yuen Baio's The Champions, in which he uses kung fu skills to win at soccer- I've only seen a clip (in Cornelius' live show) but it looks great. Maybe it's just easier to love the 80's flicks.

If anyone is interested The Private Life Of Sherlock Holmes is out this month on region 2 DVD. Man i love that film.
