Although saying that (as has been said on many sites)I have been waiting 20 years for JLA/Avengers.And I must say I throughly enjoyed it Though I think it would have been better if the crossover had been due to the machinations of Thanos in conflict with Darkseid.
Hmm... maybe the powers that be felt that the 'Darkseid/Galactus: The Hunger' and Thanoseid character during the 'Showdown of the Century' and Amalgam tales would mean that that would be re-treading old ground..? Maybe.

Actually, a year and a half.
I have faith Ellis will keep the bimonthly schedule this time (of course, there's absolutely no proof whatsoever for this genuine leap of faith, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt until proven wrong).

I hear what you're saying SP, but I'm gonna have to agree with nton on this one. I'm afraid I've seen Darkseid one too many times in the recent past (and I'm not even talking about the Darkseid/Galactus crossover or the Amalgam thingie).
Don't even get me started on Thanos, a once proud and mgnificent villain turned trivial by YET ANOTHER Infinity mini (and I hear he's getting his own ongoing now, written by, of course, Mr. Starlin who obviously ran out of fresh ideas ten years ago, IMHO).
Anyway, it's nice to see ol' Krona once again. Ditto for the Grandmaster.

Re: Planetary #16 is here (at LONG last)
Well I must agree Darkseid is probably overused of late and Marvel seem to be mishandling Thanos. But this could have been a opportunity to bring them back to their former glory. The Darkseid/Galactus crossover is old now.And the Amalgam story's were well, crap .Poor artwork and story's and one massive copout in merging the characters.A bit like these past crossovers were the Marvel/DC characters live in the same Universe.Rather than giving the "fans" what they want, the Hero's from different universes meeting in a big well written story with a credible threat to either one or both universes.Like this crossover will hopefully end up like.
Going back to the original DC vs Marvel again it was a fairly good idea but was massively let down by shoddy artwork(on what was supposed to be a major event) and only one panel of Thanos v Darkseid what a let down for two Villains who should have taken center stage.

Re: Planetary #16 is here (at LONG last)
Rather than start a whole new PLANETARY #17 thread, I decided to revive this one. If you haven't read the latest Planetary, I think you'll all like it better than ish 16, which admittedly left a lot of people wanting more (of course, 16 was NEVER meant to be "the triumphant return of Planetary", it just turned out like that) .
Pretty much what I'd predicted, storywise... save for a little twist I hadn't quite seen coming.
BTW, since this thread is (apparently) also about Avengers/JLA, anyone here bought number two yet?
(And did you notice that Superman: Red Son IS going to be collected into a trade after all?)

Um, fellas, we're now talking about Planetary #17, y'know?
Darn it, I knew I should've started a NEW thread.
