Download Festival 2006
Yep, it's here again to blow the socks off the peeps at Donnington Park! It's been a raging success in recent years and has seen the likes of Metallica, Slipknot, Velvet Revolver and Black Sabbath grace it's stages. Most certainly a fest not to be missed.
This year it is being held on weekend of 9th/10th/11th of June. The only bands at this stage confirmed are Prodigy (OMG!), Trivium and Bullet For My Valentine.
Trivium saw their fan base increase chronically after their morning performance last year. SO much so it saw them carry out a sold out tour in 2005 and a pretty damn near headlinging position in this years lineup.

And Guns N' Roses closing the show on Sunday! Although I dunno if that's cause to get excited or not really.

So far the line up looks like a veritable who's who in the metal and rock business.
Confirmed so far:
Tool (Friday Headliner), Metallica (Saturday Headliner), Guns N' Roses (Sunday headliner. More people are going to see if Axl Rose melts under the lights), 36 Crazyfists, Aiden, Alexisonfire, Alice In Chains, All American Rejects (Jeez, god help them!), Alter Bridge, Arch Enemy, Bleeding Through, Bloodsimple, Bullet For My Valentine, Clutch, Coheed & Cambria, Cradle of Filth, Deftones, Eighteen Visions, Engerica (I've heard good things about this band), Funeral for a Friend, Ginger & The Sonic Circus, Godforbid, Hatebreed, InMe (Get in!!), Korn, Lacuna Coil, Prodigy, Protest The Hero, Sikth, Soilwork, Soulfly, Stone Sour, Throw Down, To My Surprise, Trivium, Within Temptation, Zebrahead.
That is one hell of a lineup.
