Seeking participants for new Television Series
To Any and All Side Show Acts -
My name is Alice Ikeda, and I am a producer with a Seattle production company called Screaming Flea Productions (check us out at www.sfpseattle.com)
We are an outfit that produces a lot of programming for places like A & E, Discovery, National Geographic, History Channel, MTV, TNT, etc...
We do everything from the home improvement show "Sell this House", wildlife documentaries, Reality shows like A & E's series with Robbie Knievel entitled "Knievel's Wild Ride" to a 2 hour History Channel special that I just finished hosted by Matthew McConaughey on Evel Knievel titled "Absolute Evel".
I am contacting you because our company is currently in the process of developing a new series we are currently titling "Side Shows/Opening Act". This is just a working title. The premise of this series is that in the current blitz of high priced entertainment, the opening act, the side shows of Carnivals in Days Gone By are getting lost. With the popularity of HBO series such as Carnivale, we are hoping to revive tried and true acts as well as bring on new ones for a series that brings back the charm of the old style Carnival Side Show and Opening Acts.
We came accross your site in the process of the research and would be very interested in speaking with various performers as potential guests in our new series.

Opening Act
The art of performance is arguably the oldest profession…even though the standard line of what is the oldest profession, let’s face it was performance. Before TV, Movies and even books…what we had were people entertaining each other, one-on-one or in small groups.
People made a living with their God given talents…
…which is something that has sorely missing from the glitter of today’s showbiz environment.
The series OPENING ACT will take what’s old and make it new. To bring back to the airwaves acts that people rarely get to see anymore. Acts from the bizarre to the sensational…sideshow attractions to country fair daredevils, acts that are hard to find, performances people love and enjoy. With names like “Benny the Human Bomb” or “The Human Pin Cushion”, performers that still make a living doing what they love. Big money entertainment now dominates pop-culture, but there was a time that these performers populated the American landscape and was our primary form of entertainment. It’s time we pay tribute to the individuals who’ve kept this tradition alive.

You know, I'd like to see a television show that lampoons the real world smartly... Have someone come in and "tell the truth" before a "make-believe" TV station by taking it over, then tapping into all radio and TV stations to get out there message... The Fed's send in sharpshooters to kill the invaders...
