metallica's new cd

Anyone else like Metallica? I grew up listening to them, when I was given Kill Em All for my 10th birthday by a cousin (so, with a bit of research, you can work out my age!!).

Well, I got their new album (or CD I should say, I'm still a bit of vinyl junkie) "St Anger" and very good it is too.

Some great tunes, and you get a free DVD with it of the entire album being played live.

Just thought I'd share that - I'm taking a lunch break just now and I'm listening to the cd in my office.

Umm.. born in 1973 then?

I havn't heard the album so I can't comment. However, unless you are a hardcore metallica fan you will probably find this site really funny.

Well worked out!

Love the link! I think Metallica showed themselves to be "a bit silly" with their anti-Napster stance, considering that their reputation was built on the trade of tapes. A case of pulling up the draw-bridge once they got into the castle I think.

Let's test you knowledge, what song off of St Anger is a classic, traditional Irish pub tune.

Crikey, I've been to a good few Irish pubs in my time, but not once have I heard Metallica being played emoticon

I'm clutching at straws here, by my guess it's either the title track "St anger" or "sweet amber".

Am I close?

Though the Metallic version is NOT the classic, Whisky In The Jar is a classic Irish tune. I've not listened to the St Anger Album but the Metallica version of Whisky is played here in the States on near hourly basis.

Ah, that's not on the version of St Anger that I have emoticon

Whisky in the Jar, though, is a great song and Metallica's version is great. Thin Lizzy's effort is the best, of course.

Did not realize there were different versions, unless Whisky is from something else, Metallica did?

OOPS, It is from Garage Inc. and re-released on Garage Inc. (disc 1) I was hearing things when I thought the DJ's said it was from St. Anger Still they play it a lot here.
