(I used to be a bartender at a Syracuse University Sports Bar).
You can also subsitute JD for the shot and drop it in a dark beer, this is known as a Depth Charge.
Cement Mixers rank with Mind Erasers and Red Hots, they are on my tried it-never again list.
I will have an occassional drink. But usually one or two per night. I have never been drunk in all my not-yet 30 years of life. I have a genetic propensity for it and I feel I tempt fate enough with my acts.
I will never before a show, obviously. And usually not after. First alcohol and kero/soot residue do not mix well. Secondly I usually want to wash the soot off. Third, if I get piss drunk even after the show it still makes me look unprofessional. I am a huge subscriber to the "in costume-in character-representing the show" mode of thought.
I do know several performers who do not drink because they are on the wagon, so to speak. They started their careers feeling the whole "rock star" notion kick in so they partied nicely. It effected thier shows and when they realized this got them fired, or in trouble, they found they needed to clean up their act or go back to 9 to 5 life. They cleaned up.

The Dr. Pepper is similar to the carbomb where you take a light pale beer and drop a shot glass of amaretto
That's funny, My favorite use for amaretto is to put it in flat Dr pepper (the soda) and whiskey.

Peppermint Schnapps (high proof) with just enough Rock Star enrgy soda to get the flavor . It's like a good woman- Sweet and strong and nasty.
