Katherine Dunn/ Geek Love

Geek Love by Katherine Dunn is a great novel dealing with sideshow life (I can't stress enough just how great this book is).

I second that. This is quite possibly one of the best fiction books ever written.

Another good carny themed book, if you can get it, is called Carny Kill by Robert Edmond Alter. I think it's out of print, but you may be able to find it online. It's a mystery set in a carnival. It's not Geek Love, but it's still a good read. And Freezer Burn by Joe Landsdale is another mystery set in a carny.

I havent read it yet I just got it. But I do know they have made a screen play out of it and are shopping it around. I hope someone wants to make it a movie

Geek Love is a great book, and one that is a re reader. I'd love to see it as a film. I'll have to admit though, I've got my own idea of how the characters look. Hopefully the makers will stay close to the story.
