Re: Stage Names
Real Name is Starlynn, changed to Lynnie upon an adoption.
Stage Name:
Pele
Goddess Of All Things Nice
Well, Pele is after the dormant volcano on the island of Martinique. My best friend, who was from there, used to say that my temper was alot like the volcano. I would get irritated, shake alot but never blow my top. It just so happened this fit very well with the fire show, since she is also the Hawaiian Goddess of Volcanoes and Fire.
The Tagline comes from Malcolm, owner of Home Of Poi. I took over as a mod on his board when he became too frustrated to deal with newbies. It applies to his theory of my shows ("they are reeeeeeeeeeal niiiiiiiiiiice" ) and my demeanor, and he started addressing even my mail to that full name and tag (try explaining that to an inquisitve mail carrier! lol).
*shrug* I know a couple of people who will disagree with that last bit though!
I have other alter-egos for Ren and ****ens Fests as well, but Pele is the one I perform under most.

Re: Stage Names
I too am named after my show involunatarily.
I named the show the CUT THROAT freak show after the risk of cutting my throat, and because we used to hang pirate flags every where.
Then people would say Jeremy who? You know Jeremy that does that Cut Throat Freak Show thing... ....ohhh CUT THROAT Jeremy, yeah I know him...
so I shortened it to Cut Throat.
Anyone know how to change your name legally?
Would I need a new passport?

Re: Stage Names
I don't know how to go about changing your name legally, but my stage name is a company that I "own". I have business accounts in the name of "The Great Nippulini" which I myself "own" as president or CEO of "The Great Nippulini". I've also signed legal docs by my real name followed with "d.b.a. The Great Nippulini". By the way, did you get my message about the t-shirts? E-mail me.

Legal Name Change
My understanding is that you have to go to the town clerk to begin the paperwork process of having your name legally changed. I know here it costs $80 and... you have to change everything (which of course has a fee attached) including social security card, birth certificate gets reissued, driver's license, passport, credit cards, etc. Once your name is legally changed that also goes to be attached to any legal records you might have, so there is no real detachment from your old name as far as stuff like that is concerned. (See what women go through if they get married?)
Hey wait a minute! I know Nipps real name too! What do I get bribed with?
lol
Kindest Regards,
Pele

Re: Stage Names
Helen Held, The Girl No Man Can Hold.
The Helen Held part just popped into my mind once and had a swing to it; Helen is also my Mother's name, but that's just a co-incidence. "The Girl No Man Can Hold" is a double entendre, based on me being an escape artist and also a straight guy doing drag (sorry fellas, I'm a heartbreaker!).
The rest of the time I'm Quicksand Kerry, which started as an online alias (Kerry I chose after Slayer guitarist Kerry King, and seeking out quicksand is one of my hobbies) and became a personal re-invention.
My birth name is unimportant and only really used at work and to the taxman. Actually it's quite an unfortunate one which I really needed to change.
