Re: Glass Walking Information
Hey Malkav, I applaud you for that comment.
To Cody: Your enthusiasm is far outweighing your common sense. I've checked your posting history and have noticed that you seem very eager to learn what the sideshow is all about. There is a private forum here at the Sideshow Community where we all divulge and discuss the information that you seek. There is a few problems with letting you in there... one main factor is that you are a minor, another on is that these private discussions are meant for professional performers that do these (dangerous I might add) stunts on stage. I remember being 14, so don't think I am putting you down. If you want to learn these things to freak out your friends and to go to school and show off how 'cool' it is to do sideshow then you are missing out what and why we do what we do. There is more to things than just "knowing-how" it's done. Many of the stunts and acts we do are quite dangerous, some can even kill you. I know how a major percentage of these acts are done, yet I do not perform them by choice.
For arguments sake, let's say we show you glass walking. You do it, cut your foot in the process, get a nasty infection that runs deep and goes unnoticed. It is possible that you would have to amputate the foot. Now, as a parent... how would your folks feel? Who would they want to sue first? Think of the implications that this would have on the entire sideshow community and industry as a whole. Imagine that down the road, such a situation would put ALL of us out of business.
Please reconsider what you want to do in life. There are an infinite amount of ways to leave your mark on this world.

Re: Glass Walking Information
Well said. Darkpoison, PLEASE take note of what he and others have said. You're walking on dangerous ground, and at the rate you're going, your parents will be burying you before you're 15.

Re: Glass Walking Information
TGN: Yea, I think I am understanding a little bit more. I have people jumping all over me about it, but...I think I might just go without the glasswalking for now, I have 4 years until I can legally do anything. But I can never tell what I am gunna do until before it happens..

Re: Glass Walking Information
Well, I think you better know what you're going to do before you do it. Do you really want to lumber your parents with a large medical bill?
If you want to do any act, ask yourself if you're going to do them to look cool to your friends.

Re: Glass Walking Information
No, I am not doing it for the "attention" from my friends or to make me "look cool." This is something I sit at home and do in the mirror just to please myself, I just love that thought that me, who people that would be no-one is gonna be someone, or at least I hope. But damnit, I don't like showing off to like the point of only learning about it to show off. Getting all the attention rether negative/positive it is all the same to me. It is what I like, and that is what matters to me, what I like...

Re: Glass Walking Information
So, let me get this straight... you want to learn sideshow acts just so that you will have the satisfaction for yourself to know that you can do them? That just doesn't ring right to my ears. If you wanted to learn them so that years down the line you wanted to be onstage as a performer, or to get publicity as a young sideshow working act it would make more sense. I mean, look at your original post:quote: All the info you need on glass walking you have, leave it here for me and others.
It sounded almost like you were demanding that we give out free information so you can acheive your goal. I don't think you're being honest about your intentions, either. If I were 14 and heard some kid my age in my school was doing sideshow acts, I would think he was "cool" and we would pester him every day to do the stunts. It's like "Show and Tell" except someone is bringing his dad's gun to school.
Just my 2 cents...

Re: Glass Walking Information
Hi everyone
As I just said in the 'learning the human blockhead" thread I have been away for a week so I have only just seen all this stuff. Cody, take a look at the thread/forum titles before you post, so you can avoid off topic posts
Also, asking the question the way you did just comes across as rude. I am sure that was not your intention in any way though.
I am going to lock this thread.
Cheers
