posticon "Ow. Now that hurt."

A friend and I were starting a street act one day. I was gathering a crowd while he was preparing some props. For some reason I can't recall we had brought a trampet with us so I was talking away whilst bouncing up and down on it. My friend called my name so I bounced 90 degrees to my left to face him and was rather surprised to receive the business end of a baseball bat at high speed right to my top lip. I stopped talking. I stopped bouncing. I felt somewhat stunned and amazed. I felt my top lip swell up and could feel small, crunchy particles of my teeth enamel with my tongue. I thought about crying. I thought briefly about the pros and cons of murder. I remembered (after a total of approximately 1 second since the impact to my face) the audience. "Ow. Now that hurt.", I said to the world in general. I then took a breath, turned back to the audience and we continued the 25 minute show.

I should point out that the baseball bat was in fact only an air-filled hard-plastic toy and that my friend had thought I'd catch it. It wasn't part of the act, it was just poor judgement and somewhat painful.

My upper front teeth had all previously been replaced with bridgework. That bridge fell apart the next day.

I have plagued my friend's life by repeating this tale over and over since, perhaps I'd better stop before he decides to re-enact it. (I'll make sure to avoid any suspicious-looking trampets... and never answer to him calling my name... keep him away from real baseball bats...)

Hi martin

Actually I was SUPPOSED to be throwing the bat to Martin, he just forgot because he got over-excited emoticon

For my part I did throw it badly, I guess I was a little over-excited too. However I was thinking about bringing the trampet to the October show Martin, plus I know a guy who sells bats REAL cheap.

If anyone has watched the promo vid on our website you will see Martin swinging the sledgehammer for the concrete block, bed of nails bit. You will notice that he hits it right on the corner rather than in the middle, and not for the first time. Those in the know will know what that means. And those not in the know can probably figure it out. I wonder if it is revenge?

Hi David,

Hmm, no, I didn't get over-excited or forget. I didn't forget because it wasn't supposed to be thrown at all! emoticon

It's a shame to find dementia in one as young as yourself David, but deluding yourself as to what the true events were is obviously what you are doing. emoticon

I admit to my very poor aim with the sledgehammer though, I keep missing your head somehow... emoticon

I must try harder...
(Demoniacal laughter with echo ensues)

Can you answer a question from a dumb yank?

What exactly is a trampet?

That's funny. I really do aim for fiasco's head. I've never missed either. So far he's had a block broken on his head (with his face in glass) four times.
