 all part of the show
When doing one of my first performances, I was twirling a lit fire stick in a choreographed line of spinners in front of an audience. I've always been pretty safety conscious, but somehow missed treating part of my hair (I've got long dreadlocks). During the show, my hair caught on fire, I could hear the audience gasp, then, somehow, the fire went out, and I could hear the collective sigh of releif from the audience.
Plenty of people came up to me afterwards to compliment me on the trick, I just took it in my stride, and said: "yes mate, all part of the show"
