Edinburgh 2003
anyone intending to come up to the Edinburgh festival this year? I've been doing street shows there for the past few years, although I think I may be just a spectator this year as I've had feck all time to prepare something, what with the day job taking up lots of time and all.
There's ususally some good sideshow/ circus stuff to see. As well as things like Chinese or Moscow state circus, the Circus of Horrors are there, and there are often a few other sideshow type acts to be found.
Mat wots-his-name did his homage to Sealo the other year too, which was very good.

yep, that's the chap. Did anyone see the documentary on CH4 in the UK last year about Matt? It followed him as he explored attitudes to freaks (was called Freak Like Me). He visited Coney Island for part of the show. James Taylor was involved with it - and I think Ward Hall may have made an appearance (not positive though, I haven't seen it for a while now).

He's an actor, so he may well have an agent. You could try going through the UK actors' union, Equity (www.equity.org.uk). Matt happened to be on tv here last Sunday, reviewing the papers on the Heaven & Earth show.

Acts confirmed for Edinburgh this year can be found at www.edfringe.com
I've not found anything specifically related to sideshows but Steve Rawlings (great juggler and comedian) will be there, mentalist Marc Salem and also magician Paul Daniels.
