Lee Marvin & The Big Red One !!!!!!!!!

The movie is a tribute to the men of the 1st Infranty Division that fought in Sicily, Normandy and on to Germany. Director Sam Fuller, himself a highly decorated 1st Division man ( Silver Star for Normandy) directs this film, with veteran actor Lee Marvin guiding young GI's from one battle to the next. I understand that a nearly four hour release of this film was playing at a NYC theather this fall, would love to see this full length release. The current DVD has no extra's at the present. Lee Marvin was in the Fourth Marine Division and was wounded in combat during the invasion of Saipan, in June of 1944. My father fought in the same battle with the Fourth. I read some place that Marvin's father was a Sgt in the US Army in the ETO during the war?

          Thanks!
