Local Live Music
I live in Newport. Don't hold it against me. Why are there so few pubs with live entertainment?!!! I don't want to drive to Sandown or Ryde to hear a decent band, I want to stagger home! I am a member of one of the social clubs, but it seems Saturday nights have been turned over to quiz nights. Does anyone else feel the same?

i run a venue on the island and live entertainment particularly bands, has reached an all time low. people just cant be arsed to support live music anymore, consequently venues are looking to other means of entertainment. admittedly, quiz nights are one extreme i would'nt go too!
the sooner that more bands start getting some support and actually start filling the venues again the better.

Part of the problem is the quality of bands. The band I'm in used to be brilliant, but through lack of time to rehearse properly or get new material in, we're a bunch of has beens now. You have to stay on top of everything and not coast along as we've been doing
