PORCUPINE TREE - OH YES!
I was introduced to them with the 'In Absentia' album which still remains a firm favourite, however, there's no time like the present so 'Deadwing' would also be a good place to start - you can hear soundbites from it on their website: www.porcupinetree.com.
Steven Wilson has a definate 'sound' so if you like what you hear on any of the albums you'll find his sound carried thoughout whether it's the psychedelic ambient numbers or the metal thrashers.
Porcupine Tree clicked with me from the off, they may well click with you, and if they do, you'll probably end up like me and hunt out the digitally remastered back catalogue!
Go on, go on, go on, give 'em a listen!
Oh, and this week I 'ave mostly been listening to the Genesis back catalogue from Trespass to Duke.

At the moment listening to Gentle Giant 'Octopus', how complicated is that stuff!! Fantastic!! Prog RULES!!!
Also A Steely Dan bootleg called 'Metal Leg' from their 1974 tour... absolutely kicking!!
